Lordrush F2P Guide: How to Spend Gems and Progress Without Paying
Updated: October 28, 2026
You can't outspend whales in Lordrush, but you can be efficient. Free players who spend gems carefully, build the right farmable heroes and show up for alliance events progress steadily. Here's where your gems and time go furthest.
Know the costs first
Gems disappear fast in Lordrush. These are the main gem sinks and their prices:
| Use | Gem cost |
|---|---|
| Hero Roulette, 1 spin (without Lucky Chips) | 1,500 |
| Hero Roulette, 10 spins (without Lucky Chips) | 13,500 |
| Rent a second construction queue for 2 days | 1,000 |
| Extra Alliance Mobilization mission accepts | Varies |
A second construction queue is one of the most common recommendations for gem spending, since building is the main thing gated by time early on. Hero Roulette spins are expensive in gems; use your free daily Lucky Chip and save gems for when you can reach a spin milestone.

Free sources of gems, speedups and resources
- Gift codes: each active code gives gems plus speedups and resources. Redeem them all.
- Hero Roulette: a free daily pack gives 1 Lucky Chip. Spin milestones pay out at 5, 15, 35, 70 and 120 total spins.
- Bear Hunt: every damage tier gives Forgehammers and Bane shards. See the Bear Hunt guide.
- Viking Vengeance: the main source of Lord Gear materials.
- Desert Trial: the main source of Thora shards; calling a rally gives 2–4 Thora shards plus Hero XP, speedups and resources.
- Conquest idle income and Rebel Suppression idle rewards, which grow as you progress.
Farmable heroes worth building
Several heroes that rank highly in specific modes can be earned without buying packs:
- Rita (farmable): top-rated Bear Hunt joiner, with a whole-squad Lethality passive.
- Hyeri (farmable): also a top Bear Hunt joiner, and her Well-Traveled skill raises research speed by up to 15%.
- Thora: shards come from Desert Trial.
- Porter: the featured hero on the Gen 1 Hero Roulette, so the free daily chip builds him over time.
- Jack (Gen 2): obtained through Hall of Heroes; Lordrush Mastery's F2P guide estimates unlocking him there costs about $5, cheap for an S-tier rally leader.
Check each hero's ranking by mode on the tier list.
Save speedups for events
Several events score points per minute of speedup used: Hall of Governors stages and Empire of Power preparation days (30 points per minute in EvE). Using speedups during those events earns event rewards on top of the time saved. Keep a running total with the speedup calculator.
Which purchases are worth it, if any
If you decide to spend a little, the recurring options are the Regular Pass ($4.99), Premium Pass ($9.99), Daily Worship ($4.99) and the 7-day Daily Deal ($4.99). Low-spenders generally get the most from passes and from targeted, cheap unlocks like Jack, rather than large packs. Decide on a monthly limit before you start; these games are designed to make "just one more pack" tempting.
F2P habits that add up
- Join every Bear Hunt and Viking Vengeance.
- Redeem codes as soon as they're released; some have limits.
- Spin the free daily roulette chip.
- Run Desert Trial rallies for Thora shards.
- Stay in one active alliance; leaving mid-event forfeits rewards.
Frequently asked questions
Is Lordrush pay to win?
Spending gives a big advantage, and some top heroes are pack-only. Free players can still progress well through events, codes and farmable heroes, especially in cooperative modes.
How much does a Hero Roulette spin cost?
One Lucky Chip, or 1,500 gems per spin and 13,500 gems for ten spins when you're out of chips.
What should I spend gems on in Lordrush?
A common recommendation is a second construction queue (1,000 gems for 2 days) to speed up building, and saving the rest for Hero Roulette spin milestones.
